Finding a Necklace for Your Neckline

How to use pendant, collar and choker styles to frame an outfit without overwhelming it.

A necklace works best when it has space to sit comfortably and remain visible. Before choosing one, look at the cut of your neckline, the detail on your clothing and where you want the eye to rest.

For open necklines

With a V-neck or an open shirt, a pendant necklace can follow the line of the neckline. Leave a little space between the pendant and the fabric so the shape reads clearly. If the outfit has a busy print, choose a simpler pendant.

For higher necklines

A collar necklace or choker can sit above a high neckline and bring attention toward the face. Try it with a plain blouse or dress first, then adjust the rest of your accessories to keep the overall look balanced.

For occasions that call for more

When the necklace is the centrepiece, a necklace set can make pairing easier. Check the product listing to see exactly which pieces are included; set contents vary. For a quieter look, choose one necklace and small earrings instead.

Lengths and fit are specific to each design. Review the product photos and listed measurements before purchasing, especially when styling around a particular neckline.
